Exhibitor History

Brittney Cathey-Adams
Santa Cruz, California United States
Brittney Cathey-Adams is a photographer currently located in Santa Cruz, CA. Her work primarily utilizes the body for discovery of self. She is interested in self-portraiture and exploring the way we perceive our bodies. In her images she investigates the act of taking up space, a radical issue within the fat bodied community. Photographing outdoors her work has a performative and ritualistic aspect to it. She works in traditional aesthetics, placing herself into a narrative not permitted to her body. She has been teaching photography and creating program curricula in the Bay Area for seven years. She currently works at the San Jose Museum of Art as a Gallery Teacher. With a passion for photography, Cathey-Adams dedicates herself not only to image making but supporting future photographers through teaching, workshops and lectures.

Upcoming Exhibits

After 99 Exhibitions we're taking a break.

Over the next month or two we are planning to do some work on our web site and better organize and advertise our inventory of fabulous prints we have been collecting. We also want to host a few more workshops and photographer community events.

Once we regroup, for our 100th exhibit, we are planning to host our 4th Champlain Valley Photo Slam Probably in November/December.

We really appreciate all the support we have received over the last seven years and queries from eager photographers about future exhibitions.

Stay tuned!
