Darkroom Gallery Master

John Flynn
White River Junction, VT USA

I studied black & white and color photography at UNH in the late 1970s under Prof. Richard Merritt, who provided encouragement to continue developing the eye and consider sharing my work with others. Accordingly, a 35-year hiatus ensued, during which I was a member of four world champion US boomerang teams, won two individual event world championships, various national titles, and earned recognition from the Guinness Book of Records, Sports Illustrated, and the National Air and Space Museum. My natural elbow and strip-laminate wooden boomerangs won national craftsmanship awards that were similarly gratifying. Following retirement in 2010 from top-tier competition, I picked up the camera again in earnest, dusted off an eye for the abstract, and strive to produce images of sound technical content that, given a second thought, might hint at societal ironies or ponderings.

Upcoming Exhibits

 WATCH THIS SPACE!

After 99 Exhibitions we're taking a break.

Over the next month or two we are planning to do some work on our web site and better organize and advertise our inventory of fabulous prints we have been collecting. We also want to host a few more workshops and photographer community events.

Once we regroup, for our 100th exhibit, we are planning to host our 4th Champlain Valley Photo Slam Probably in November/December.

We really appreciate all the support we have received over the last seven years and queries from eager photographers about future exhibitions.

Stay tuned!
