I approach camerawork and image-making as a practice: as an application of a system of thought and as a repetitive exercise. A kind of moving meditation, this practice creates space for my mind to settle and clear and even disappear for a while. Within this space, some small measure of awareness and receptivity is cultivated, and how I understand what I see is changed. For me, it’s a way of being in nature and effectively working my connection to the landscape. These photographs are my tracks, they’re what remain of places between my imagination and the landscape. They come from conversations and interactions with nature; they are marks and gestures that point to a greater significance. They are the images of that which showed up in my practice.
